John Evans
John Evans is a graduate Chartered Engineer and Chartered Arbitrator. He has spent most of his career building and commissioning large engineering projects in various parts of the world.
John started his career in the Oil Industry (Esso and Shell), where he was involved in the construction of petrochemical projects in the UK and overseas. During the course of this employment with Shell he was located in the Netherlands, where he learned to speak and read Dutch.
He then moved to Babcock & Wilcox, where he was initially stationed in South Africa, responsible for building power stations throughout Southern Africa. On returning to the UK he became involved in building port terminals, processing plants and water and waste treatment plants.
Latterly he was a director of Taylor Woodrow Construction, with responsibility for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Contracting and all engineering consultancy. He was responsible for profit centres in the UK, the USA, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
In addition to his active interest and involvement in Community Health Partnerships, John practices as an arbitrator in construction disputes.
