About us
Benefits to local authorities
Community Health Partnerships regards local authorities as key to developing partnerships, bringing together health, social care and other services such as sport facilities, housing and benefit advice. CHP aims to draw together NHS and local authority provision to make better use of land, infrastructure and investment to develop modern, value-for-money, integrated services.
As Lord Warner, the then Health Minister, told our annual conference in 2006:
'NHS LIFT gives the public sector the opportunity to redesign services to achieve a step-change in the way they are delivered. It is breaking down the organisational silos that have existed for so long between the primary and secondary sectors and between NHS and social care.'
