Liverpool & Sefton Health Partnership is proud to announce the opening of Breeze Hill Neighbourhood Health Centre, which welcomed its first patients this week. The eye catching new building houses Walton Medical Centre, Grey Road Medical Centre, Primary Care Trust Community Services, and a Lloyds Pharmacy.
The Centre is sited at a prime location at the junction of Liverpool's ring road and the busy arterial route of Rice Lane. The building has been designed to respond to the demands of the site which is dominated by the proximity of a large concrete flyover. Thus, the building provides a new frontage to both Queens Drive and Rice Lane.
Construction on the project commenced in September 2006, and the building was officially handed over to Liverpool PCT on February 1st 2007.
As well as the two GP Surgeries moving into the new facility, a wide range of community primary care services will also be provided, including:
- Children's Health
- Nurse Led Treatment Rooms
- Diagnostic Suite
- Abacus Family Planning Clinic
- Diabetic Eye Screening
- IV Therapies
Graham Pink, Chief Executive of Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership, stated that "The opening of Breeze Hill Neighbourhood Health Centre marks another milestone in the life of Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership. The company is proud to have delivered this significant development, which will serve the health care needs of the local population. The success of the project is built on partnership between the company, Liverpool PCT, and the private sector, and together with the developments in Southport and Picton, and the three centres completed at Ainsdale, Litherland & Everton Road, demonstrate the commitment of the company to invest in improving facilities for the delivery of health care across Liverpool and Sefton."
John Garrett, Liverpool PCT Director of A New Health Service for Liverpool & NHS LIFT stated "Our partners have now delivered six new centres including the three most recent, and this will assist the primary care trusts of Liverpool and Sefton with their strategies to deliver first class healthcare at the heart of peoples' communities. The successful delivery of these projects demonstrates the strength of the partnership between the stakeholders, LSHP and its supply chain."
The centre will be fully operational by April 2008, and details of an official opening will be distributed in due course.
