Bulwell Riverside has scooped an international award for its community engagement.
The winners of the Partnerships Bulletin Awards 2012 were announced at a ceremony in London last night. These international awards aim to promote best practice and recognise innovation and excellence in public private partnerships.
A panel of judges representing a broad spectrum of industry professionals who are respected for their expertise, experience and integrity in the public private partnership market, selected Bulwell Riverside as the winner of the 'Best Community Project' award.
Services in the new £23 million centre, which opened to the public in January 2012, include two GP practices, health clinics youth and play services, councillor surgeries, rehabilitation and therapy services, paediatric services, school nursing, welfare rights advice, housing services, plus a library, cafe and pharmacy.
The centre is located in the heart of one Nottingham's established District Centres and has transformed a dilapidated brown field site into a major community hub and features a new footpath that links the site to the much loved Bulwell Bogs Park.
Building work started in 2009 and was completed in November 2011. The project was developed and delivered by Greater Nottingham LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust)
