Consultation on NHS LIFT Business Case Approval Guidance

Consultation on NHS LIFT Business Case Approval Guidance - 22nd May 2008

The Department of Health are consulting on Business Case Approval Guidance for PCTs with Existing LIFTs.

The guidance has been published on the DH website under the consultation section. Follow the link: http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Consultations/Liveconsultations/DH_084835.

Although it is a draft for consultation, the guidance represents a codification of existing good practice with respect to LIFT and should therefore be now used for practical purposes until the final form is decided.

Schemes currently going through the approval process (either at SHA or DH level), who have been using previous versions of the guidance, should talk to their approvers about the application of the guidance to their exact position in the approval process. We would want the general principles of this guidance to be followed, but without requiring schemes to open up issues that have already been closed down.
