CHP is honored to be head tenant at a building which bears the name of Olympian star Jason Kenny.
The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro have been Great Britain’s most successful games in almost a century (since coming first back in 1908), with Great Britain becoming the first team ever to do better on foreign soil than they did when hosting the previous Olympic Games.
One of the stars from this year’s Olympic Games was Jason Kenny who is now tied with Chris Hoy as Britain’s most successful Olympian after winning 3 Olympic Gold medals at the Rio games, he now matches Chris Hoy’s record of 6 Golds and 1 Silver medal in total.
After previously winning 2 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012, Jason Kenny was rewarded for being Bolton’s most decorated Olympian by having a new £30 million Leisure Centre in his hometown named after him. This leisure centre is based within Bolton One, of which CHP is head tenant, and which provides health, education and leisure facilities to the local community.
Jason has set the bar even higher for future athletes from Bolton following his success at the Rio Olympics, and we are honoured at CHP to be head tenant at a building that bears the name of such an impressive athlete. John Green, Key Account Manager (North), played a significant role in developing the new leisure centre and stated that:
“I am proud that this community facility will deliver an Olympic legacy to the people of Bolton, inspiring them to become more active by making use of the impressive facilities.
I hope that Jason Kenny will inspire the younger generations and support future potential Olympians who can emulate the success of Team GB by making use of the Jason Kenny Leisure Centre in Bolton One.”
