Galliford Try, the leading house building and construction group, is opening up two of its LIFT sites that are currently under construction for the Open Doors Weekend on September 27-28.
The two sites; White City Health Centre and Norwood Hall are both due to be completed and opened to the public during the first half of 2014.
Open Doors events will be taking place across the country to show the diverse and exciting career opportunities that construction has to offer and the wide range of skills that need to come together to make buildings and infrastructure part of our everyday lives.
The Open Doors Weekend is the result of a partnership of four leading industry bodies, UK Construction Group (UKCG), CITB-ConstructionSkills, The Considerate Constructors Scheme and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
The White City Health Centre is a £28.26 million mixed-use scheme being delivered via a joint venture between Building Better Health and Hammersmith & Fulham CCG. The new care centre will provide a range of health services including accommodation for GP's in the area, walk-in clinics, community nursing and mental health services. These services will be delivered in a state-of-the-art 3,400m2 health centre.
The Norwood Hall joint service centre is being delivered in partnership with Building Better Health. The new £13.8 million development replaces the existing Norwood Hall, previously a disused community hall. It will provide much needed health and well-being services to Norwood residents including a Dentistry Training Centre for King's College students, a customer service centre and a PCT Neighbourhood Resource Centre. The project will also deliver a range of high quality facilities including a gym, dance studio and swimming pool.
Galliford Try Partnerships South East Managing Director Stuart Brodie said: “It’s an exciting opportunity for all of our team to open up these site and show the public what construction has to offer. We are always interested in encouraging people to become involved with our industry which has the real potential to provide the opportunities that young people need today.”
