Community 1st Sheffield, the Sheffield LIFT company, signed a lease agreement with Sheffield Primary Care Trust this week for a single site central headquarters office.
These plans have been in train since the Primary Care Trust (PCT) completed its reorganisation last year, re-structuring from four PCTs to one. The new headquarters will assist the new PCT to fulfill their plans to consolidate all the PCT commissioning staff to operate from a single premises.
The headquarters building is not a new build development and will be re-fitted by Community 1st Sheffield to create a new modern working environment for staff.
Located in the regeneration area of Darnall, Building 722 on Prince of Wales Road is part of the refurbishment and regeneration of the old steel works offices. The location of the PCT headquarters in this area of Sheffield will help contribute to the overall regeneration of the area.
The re-fit of the accommodation will be completed over two phases which will allow the phased relocation of staff into their new base. Both phases will be completed by the end of May 2008.
This project demonstrates the flexibility of LIFT to work in partnership with the Primary Care Trust to accommodate their requirements. Community 1st Sheffield has entered into a 10 year FRI lease with the PCT for this existing building and is providing all the fit out works and equipment as well as operational Property Manager services. No external funding is required and there is no shareholder investment in this scheme.
