Oldham LIFT - £9m Chadderton Wellbeing Centre Opens to the Public

Good news for the people of Chadderton in Oldham as the Chadderton Wellbeing Centre opens to the public today, Monday 30th November 2009.

An official opening weekend will take place on Friday 4th to Sunday 6th December to give people a chance to have a look around the building, see the services available and take part in some 'family fun' activities.

The new centre houses a range of modern community facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, library, gym and aerobics studio, cafe and community meeting rooms, community police support officer base, all brought together in a unique, state-of-the-art new building to deliver key joined-up services at a local level.

The Wellbeing Centre is the first of its kind in Oldham and also the first LIFT development in partnership with the Local Authority, demonstrating the breadth of activities LIFT can participate in and successfully deliver.

Community 1st Oldham, the Oldham LIFT company, has a strong partnership with Oldham Council. Working closely together, financial close on this fantastic new facility was achieved only 11 months after Community 1st was appointed.

Oldham Council, Community 1st Oldham and leisure operator Oldham Community Leisure look forward to welcoming everyone to the new wellbeing centre.
