Radcliffe's New Health Facility is Now Open - 17th March 2009

Radcliffe Primary Care Centre, located at the junction of Church Street West has now opened its doors to patients.

The first of many to move into the new centre was Dr. Flascher and Partners from Redbank Group Practice who opened their doors to patients on Monday 16th February 2009.

The £10-million, 'state of the art', centre was a public, private partnership, financed and developed by Bury, Tameside & Glossop Community Solutions (BTGCS) and extends to 4,944 square metres offering clinical accommodation over three floors, including 45 consulting and examination rooms and 20 treatment and diagnostic rooms.

Mr. Stephen Mills, Chief Executive for NHS Bury said; "Radcliffe Primary Care Centre is set to transform the face of the health service in Radcliffe, offering a much needed new health resource. The centre will offer easy access to services making them more convenient and fit to meet current and future health needs of local people. I am delighted that GP services are amongst the first to occupy the new centre."

In the coming weeks, patients will be able to access other health and well being services including the GP Practices currently located at Blackburn Street Health Centre, minor surgery and a wide range of community services including Community Midwives, Community Dentistry, Audiology, Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapy and many more.

The Centre will also offer an on-site Pharmacy for ready access to over the counter medicines and prescription drugs. More services will move into the centre in the coming weeks in a phased approach. Simon Barnes, General Manager for BTGCS said, "We are proud to be part of NHS Bury's strategic vision to provide improved health care facilities and services and the Radcliffe Primary Care Centre is a superb example of how the public and private sectors can work together to deliver a, 'state of the art', facility."
