Construction work is commencing on The Paddocks project on Canvey Island  following the establishment of South East Essex's LIFT company on 9th August 2007. The £6m project will provide accommodation for GPs, a range of community care services, a dispensing pharmacy and training facilities. The new LIFT company is a joint venture between South East Essex Primary Care Trust, gbprimary care and Partnerships for Health. The LIFT company will develop strategies and deliver new premises over the next 20 years with South East Essex PCT and their other public sector strategic partners including Castle Point Borough Council, Rochford District Council, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Work is already underway in planning the next schemes at Shoebury Garrison and Westcliffe.
