Spreading charitable cheer across Merseyside

In the lead up to Christmas 2014, staff and patients from across all 13 of Public Private Partnership, Liverpool & Sefton Health Partnerships' (LSHP) health and social care facilities joined together to help spread festive cheer and raise funds for a number of charitable causes.

Food bank donations

Following a mass of donations from across all LSHPs sites, on 17 December, the NHS Merseyside Area Team helped check and sort everything, ready for collection by three local foodbanks based in North, Central and South Liverpool.

Following linkages with local frontline care professionals, people in need across the city were then able to redeem food vouchers from the foodbanks for food packages, which included items from the LSHP's centre donations.

School choirs

Patients and staff at LSHP's Breeze Hill Neighbourhood Centre, South Liverpool Treatment Centre (SLTC) and Townsend Lane Neighbourhood Centre were treated to performances by choirs from Arnot St Marys Primary School, Garston COE Primary School and Pinehurst Primary School.

Generous donations boost charity funds

Following a series of bake sales, sweepstakes and tombolas across LSHP's centres, gbpartnerships target of raising £5000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK received an impressive boost of £500.

Save The Children, also received a generous donation after staff kindly donated money in exchange for wearing their special Christmas jumpers to work.
