Southern Derbyshire LIFTCo reached Practical Completion on the St Oswald's Community Hospital in Ashbourne, Derbyshire on Monday 13th September.
The 30 year concession £24million Community Hospital operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week and was built on a three acre brown-field site close to a protected local water course. The ground floor accommodates out-patient services which include:
a five GP Practice
ultra-sound and other primary care services.
There is also a Third Party Income Pharmacy on the ground floor. The 24 beds community hospital is located on the first floor and is primarily designed for rehabilitation and care of the elderly within four bed bays and single rooms with en-suite bathrooms. The first floor includes full catering and administrative facilities, physiotherapy and occupational therapy departments supporting the in-patients' needs. The second floor has additional outpatient support services, therapy services and administrative support to all services within the hospital.
The St Oswald's Community Hospital is the 8th building to be developed by the LIFTCo and represents a step change in the size of the operational portfolio. The operational portfolio for the Southern Derbyshire LIFTCo has grown to approximately 23,000m2 of primary care medical facilities with 356 parking spaces and a freehold land area of nearly 11 acres; all maintained by JLIS.
Completion of the Hospital on time has kept Edward Hannah (General Manager) and David Morgan (Construction Manger) very busy over the summer period and both now look forward to taking some annual leave and continuing with the day-job.
