Striking new sculpture erected at Finchley Memorial Hospital

A striking new sculpture in the Therapy Gardens at CHP’s Finchley Memorial Hospital in north London, is proving to be a talking point for patients, visitors and members of staff.

Finchley Memorial Hospital, London

Titled Memorial Angels, the piece is the work of local artist and actor Drew Edwards, who produced and donated it in recognition of the life-saving treatment he received at the hospital.

The work comprises of three figures; the smaller stone sculpture being the artist, looking up towards the two 12 feet high angels who represent the hospital’s medical staff.

The two larger angels are created from wood from a fallen 250-year old oak tree from nearby Hadley Wood, together with reclaimed stainless steel from a recycling centre in Finchley.
